Patricia A. Lowther

Ms. Lowther specializes in commercial real estate property and liability insurance as well as marine related risks. She has over twenty years of sailing experience including Bay and ocean, racing and cruising, and understands the unique needs of boat owners and cruisers.

Prior to entering the insurance business, Ms. Lowther was an independent consultant managing global teams in the high tech industry. Her achievements have been acknowledged by several high profile organizations.  While employed at Tenneco Inc., Pat had the distinction of being selected as one of the company’s top 100 Women. When she joined the NorthStar crew, she brought with her a wealth of knowledge, experience, and professionalism.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Ms. Lowther has a BA in mathematics.

Originally from Texas, Ms. Lowther has lived in the Bay Area for twenty years where she is active in the sailing community as a board member of the Pacific Cup Yacht Club, a member of Berkeley Yacht Club’s race committee, the Sailing Renaissance Group, SFMCA, CREWsf, and CCIM. Her interests are sailing, kayaking, swimming, and opera.

Matt Johnson

Matthew is a Commercial Account Executive at NorthStar Risk Management & Insurance Services, Inc. Matthew started his insurance career with NorthStar in 2003, where he worked as an account manager and underwriter. During this time, he attended college while accumulating an extensive knowledge of the industrial and residential commercial insurance industry. With his strong background in customer service, Matthew understands the importance of helping each client find proper coverage for a competitive premium.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics from California State University East Bay. He plans to obtain his Master of Science degree in finance from Saint Mary’s College of California’s School of Economics and Business Administration.

Lana Cross

Lana joined the NorthStar Risk Management crew in 2007 where she developed in-house marketing campaigns and performed office manager duties. Lana is now responsible for managing personal line accounts and yachts. Lana is driven to exceed client expectations by providing extraordinary customer service, using an “out of the box” approach to linking customers needs with products in the market, and keeping communication open, quick, and friendly with every client every time.

Lana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business with a concentration in Marketing from San Francisco State.

Lana enjoys traveling, playing soccer, running and biking. Her favorite destination is to Hawaii where she visits family, surfs, hikes and relaxes. She has played soccer since she was a child continuing through high school into college. Today, she plays for fun and enjoys coaching her cousins. Lana’s personal goal is to complete a half marathon.
